Not an easy decision, and I waffled for about 3 months. The turbo is a blast to drive, but the blast is very brief. within 2 or 3 seconds you are travelling fast enough to get the car impounded here in Ontario. On the highway I could hit over 150km/h in 3rd gear, and 50 over can get you a $10,000 fine and the car confiscated for 7 days. Ontario bans radar detectors. Simply having one is a fine, and your insurance skyrockets. That said, I never got caught while driving it.

So, for all the fun, I really couldn't push more than 75% of the limits of the car at any time. And it is a convertible, so tracking regularly is not really an option. I did DE events, and they were fun as hell, but few and far between.

So in the end I decided to get a compromise. The GTS has the big back end and wide rear tires, better sound with the PSE and a higher revving engine with lower maintenance costs. I'll pocket the difference, and in a couple years, if the urge to go to the track waxes, I'll use the cash to get an Exige or similar.

I agree with your comment about the how the Carrera Red appears in pics. Most of the pics I have seen are over exposed, causing the red to appear too bright relative to the actual color. Carrera Red has a touch of cranberry in it which makes it a deeper, darker color. It is very rich looking. I am envious!
That's a good description. Agree that Cranberry is closer. Looks like fuchsia in the pictures.

More pics outside after a wash, clay bar, wash, Zaino AIO and a quick detail spray. Too bad today is grey and overcast. Will rain later.

You can see the deviated carpeting here, which I really am glad I got. You can see the carpet on the doors, which is a nice accent. The rear seat backs and the back cabin wall are both black.

oh wow that looks amazing!!!
excellent combo, very nicely done. That matte black wheel center is spectacular on the red backdrop.
Try Z2 I think it works better the more coats you put on. I have about 12 on mine since August!!

May I suggest you replace the center caps to silver than colored? In my view such a bright interior on a dark car must be the point of concentration, and the colored centers draw my eyes to the wheels. I would do silver crest on the hood as well...But then again its your baby, your call.

..oh and clear turn signals?

I have the silver wheel crests and pressure caps. How do I get a silver hood crest?

I like the coloured crest. May reconsider someday.

And yes, the clear side markers were overlooked, and are being couriered from the dealership. They will look much better.

Well done. The first time a saw this combo in person, I was stunned. The only concern is the amount of reflection off of the top of the dash. That's why some spec two tone. dave

Clutch is a bit different than in the turbo. Like the touchscreen PCM.

Few pics with my phone. Needs a wash and a shine yet, and will post some more after.
Jlangmd:

Did your wheels come with the black caps or did you source them yourself?

That is how they come.

I chose the sport wheels because of winter driving. I will put on winter tires with alloy rims in October.

No glare at all so far (I have polarized sunglasses).

Wow, colour combination is fantastic. The black carpets are perfect, red would be too much. The red interior looks a lot better in the later outdoor shots, less pink looking.
