Default spring discoveries

during winter i got and installed new recaro seat on driver`s side and now i have discovered that when I approach a corner I instinctively put in 5th gear instead of 3rd and 4th instead of 2nd. first 2 times I did that I could only think - WTF?! but now it worries me. recaro seat is perfectly centered of a steering wheel and is probably more 'proper' fit but what to do with those reflexes now? every time it is a new PITA from those mods...

Better than putting it in 2nd instead of 4th !! As long as you err higher it's okay.

But yeah, I agree. This is why I don't even like the "sport" button. Your body learns muscle memory, so IMO you want the car set up the same way all the time. I try to drive in racing position (straight seat back, close to the wheel) all the time so that the muscles learn how to use the controls in that position instinctively.

yep. it will take some time now to relearn this. on a bright side - heel&toe now is much easier to do now, probably as body got moved a bit more to the right it is easier to twist leg with my hurted knee. it just never happened to me before to mismatch gears like this, feels very funny when you are 100% positive it went into second gear fine and then car does not accelerate.
