I agree. With gas taxes, tire taxes, etc. that are designated for road construction/repair you would think things would be maintained.

Congrats, i also have 2006 c2. it is a great car. Do not hurry to sell those stock rims - you may like them more than you think.

No plans to change the rims. I am a "purist" and think it looks just fine as is!

Congrats Bill. Looks like we are on the same path. I sold a 993 C4S (skipped the 996) and picked up a 07' 997.1 in Oct. last year.

Drove it a few hundred miles further to get it home. Danbury, CT to Kansas City. It's the 4th car I have flown and drove home. For me that is all part of the experience.

Interesting note on the roads as I will be taking on another 997 road trip in 2 weeks KC to Galveston and back.

I live in Beaufort.

Taking a trip like this was the best way to get the car home. It was less expensive than shipping and I really learned the car. I think everyone who buys a car long distance should drive their car back if they can make the time.

Congrats! Now all you have to do is build in the radar and nav. The way you have them setup is a Porsche nono!

I know...

That was just for the drive back. It was easy to travel on the airplane with, though!

congrats mate!

I did the exact same thing last weekend. I flew from New York to Brumos Porsche in Florida, got my 2009 C2 and drove 970 miles back with a buddy of mine.

I have to say, what a great experience!

Enjoy your car and in good health!

Every car nut should do this once in their life! Last year, I purchased a '06 C2S cab and drove from San Jose to KY. I'll never forget the journey and would love to do it again!

Congrats on your new ride. I believe the "bonding time" spent on your first long ride will leave a lasting impression. Enjoy
