Default New Stabil - FYI

Some of you may have been using the Marine Stabil to deal with Ethanol in the gasoline. They now have a new product specifically formulated for the ethanol problem.

Thanks for the heads up Sam, this can be extremely useful for the snow blower and mowers which seem to suffer worse than the cars!

Ya I use the marine formula, abt an oz each time. Pcar runs great, but could be placebo. Can't hurt.

There's an even better product called StarTron. Been using it for my boat and lawn equipment since it came out years ago. No need to use it every time, just when storing the car.

I'd love to know how it "removes water" - some sort of magic?

That sounds like marine Sta-Bil relabeled and marketed for general and automotive use.

I use it in my boat, snowblower, etc. Because the fuel sits for a long time. No need to use it in your car unless you are storing it for months.

Funny, I use StarTron in my boat too...been using it for years. I've never used it in the car since these new cars fuel systems are built for Ethanol.

Ron, I also use a product from Mercury called Quik Klean...highly recomended for Verado owners. I just checked my plugs at 250 hours and they look like new...very new. My neighbor with Yamaha engines uses it too.

Hey Mike - there's a variety of products I use in my Yamaha - Ring Free (sounds like the same as Quik Klean) and StarTron in the fall. While our engines are designed to handle Ethanol, it's the winter storage that I use it for. You guys in warmer climates are lucky, but here in the Northeast we tend to tuck our summer cars in around the middle of November and don't wake them up until March.
