45K ? maybe patience instead of wait. maybe next spring, or the spring after that. and maybe 60-80k miles. if you're in a hurry, i'd look toward 996's instead. you should be able to locate one for much less.

As a fellow 2006 C4S cab driver, I can see you are a man of discerning tastes and I salute you.
However, your price range is a bit low - it is highly unlikely for you to find an example in good-to-excellent condition for less than $55k.
Given that, your choices are
(1) Look for a C2 cabrio which should be less than $50k, maybe even $45k
(2) Save up a bit more money and ride out your Z until C4S cabrio prices drop to an acceptable level.

They are vastly different vehicles both in the way they handle and feel.
I'm thinking that you haven't spent much time thinking and researching this out.
Go take a few test drives and try to narrow down what you are looking for.

I don't know if you plan to use the car for trips or anything like that, but having the front differential impacts the front trunk space negatively. If you don't NEED an AWD then seriously consider the RWD car only. The cabriolet is limited as it is with the storage space, and only worse with the 4WD.

well i do plan on making trips from nc to md. mostly used as a daily driver. i dont really care much for trunk space only enough for a banging *** system. i got a 07 g35 sedan so ill keep that as my grocery car but ill be trading that in soon for a 09 escalade hybrid because i need to haul my 09cbr1000 and ive been hauling it on my g35 cus i got a tow package set up on it. but back on subject i want the 4 wheel drive carrera cus it snows in md and gets pretty icy in nc during winter so that is the only reason id want the c4. i could go for a c2s but thinking about the snow scares me of that idea of driving a rear wheel drive even though ill have an suv soon to.

Check out both the rear drive and all wheel before you buy. You may find that you may do just as well with a 2WD as the 4WD because Porsche did a lot to make the 2s easier to drive in all conditions.

ya thanks i just might have to do that. why would i look at the wrong car, nah buddy this what i want. you can fit a 10 sub with a amp in the trunk right? plus ill change out all the speakers with some good component speakers and get a good four channel amp, with a bad *** head unit/nav. whos done these kind of mods to their car? so edgy ur saying its still ok to drive a rear wheel drive in icey conditions, hmmm im not sure id wanna do that on an expensive car as a 997
