Default Does the Porsche logo/crest design appear on PCM screen of 997.2

I know that the Porsche logo design would come up on the 997.1 PCM screen when you'd first start the engine. I didn't see the logo on the PCM start-up screen when the 997.2 first came out in '09. Wondering from anyone who has a '10 or newer 997.2 whether the logo appears on the PCM screen upon start-up now? The logo on the screen was a nice touch....just wondering....thanks!

Here's how I got the Porsche logo to show on my PCM 3.0. Got into the car and waited until the light went off. You could hear the disk drive spinning down. Then inserted the key into the ignition. Voila!

I think this is a bug with the .2 PCM. Mine is erratic, sometimes it shows but most of the time it doesn´t show. I think it should show everytime your start the engine, but it doesn´t. Never tried toosixy trick, maybe it will work, but it´s a pain to wait for the interior light went off, it takes alot of time.

Mine was sparatic as well and when it did show it was for a split second. The 997.1 stays on for a while. I liked my 997.1 better. I assume it's the same programming but the 997.2 has a faster processor (think playing solitary on a new computer, the cards fan in 3 seconds versus 3 minutes on an old MSdos pc)

Yes, my PCM behaves like yours does.

I've never seen the Porsche crest on my GTS's PCM screen (997.2).
Knowing Porsche, it's probably an extra-cost option now.
Or, it's been eliminated to save weight.
Yeah, that's it. The second one.

Me either. Is there a quick way to determine if the PCM has the most recent update or which version one has and which version you should have?

To see what version you currently have on your PCM:
Info > Options > Set PCM System > Display > Software Version

As of Dec 2010, for 2009, the latest update was v1.44. For 2011, I believe it was v2.22. Not sure about 2010 MY.
Dealer will know what the latest version is available for your car. Bring it in or call your service advisor.
