Great article, thanks for posting. It's right on the money. I also like the fact that Peter can be nostalgic about I love Lucy etc., but also say that the modern cars are all that.

Great article, thanks for posting. Despite Egan's brilliance, I finally gave up on R&T (and C&D) years ago - too many reviews of trucks, minivans, econoboxes, 4000 pound US "sports" cars, and other crap.

Damn, I miss Sports Car International! But Evo, Car, Excellence, GT Porsche and Total 911 keep me occupied...

This reminds me of something I noticed the other day. Almost all the other cars you look at these days--even attractive ones, like the current Jaguars--have creases, accent lines, "shoulders" or other non-functional pieces added just to make them look better, or less boring, or smaller. Not the 911, so far as I can see. That's part of the appeal.
