Talking PSE install 997.1

After looking everywhere for a used PSE system, I broke down and ordered a new PSE and X51 headers from Suncoast. Sounds sweet!

Install was fun and straight forward thanks to forum member Schwartzwest, who helped with the install.

Now I just need some decent weather to enjoy it....

Cool! Did you also do the wiring? yourself? If so, using Sport button or a separate button?

Congrats!

Any chance of a sound clip? I have my PSE unplugged and it sounds great, but I've been toying with adding the X51's. Just curious what, if any, additional sound they'll bring to the table.

Very cool; nice pics and garage. You'll love the sound, and my guess is that you'll notice some extra oomph too.

I performed the same mod and extremely happy with the results... Enjoy and look for the under-pass nearest you! : )

I installed PSE in my Targa a couple of years ago. While I loved the PSE, I loved it even more when I added 200 cell cats and X51 headers. Enjoy.

Also curious about this. I think DIY the mufflers is pretty easy but I've never seen anyone document the wiring into the cabin which seems a bit tricky.

The wiring isn't tricky, but does take patience. I wired mine to a simple on/off switch that I installed in my ashtray, and brought the power from a separate circuit in the fuse box. The hardest part of the wiring is fishing the wires through the large wiring grommet on passenger side of engine bay.

I never had mine inspected, and I don't know what testing they do at "Air Care" in Vancouver. But I've heard that if you take the car for a spirited run just prior to testing, the cats will often pass the smog test. If not, then you'd need to put the old ones on for testing purposes.

Oh ok, thanks. Here we have to do an emission test every 2 years and they measure a few different gases out of the engine (NoC, CO, etc...).

So, your state with all your GREENISH stuff doesn't do emission testing?

California does smog emission checks, but on newer cars they aren't needed very often. Required at re-sale. Check with Ed ("northvan" on 6speed). He has these cats with PSE.

We're all familiar as we're planning to raid your country for cash and beer in the near future.

Oh, did I say that out loud?

We welcome your cash (though it's devalued lower than our cash) and love to crack a few beers with you folks!
