I'm getting serious about a 2007 997s w 12k miles, chrono, turbo wheels, sports exhaust, in baltic blue, they are asking 57ish. I am doing a PPI to see if there are any problems. Is there any other thing I should do or consider before I buy this car. Has anybody bought a car without test driving it or is this crazy I am even considering just going off the ppi and some pictures? Its kind of hard to get out to the car with my job and they are being difficult doing it Saturday. It is at a non porsche dealership.

The woman wants to get married but I want to have my fun before the family life comes around. I work hard so its nice to have something to relax in once in a while. The 911 has been my passion since I was younger and now I can finally get one.

Drive the car. Tell them to do it Saturday. They want the sale, you can always walk away.

I bought a Boxster sight unseen. Went by detailed pics and PPI. Was a bit disappointed at the paint condition when it arrived, but overall it was ok. I would recommend you get an upraiser to look at the car (something I didn't do). He will test the paint with the paint meter, check for possible body work, make pictures of all the blemishes in and out AND give you the car's value. If the value comes back more than asking price, you know it's a good deal. If the value is bellow the asking price, you can use it as a bargaining chip.

Yes you should do the plugs and cabin filters after 4 yrs if you want to go by Porsche recommended maintanence, thats going to cost around $400. That can be a negotiating topic, and inspect the wheels for curbing, and tires for uneven wear. Pay for a deep PPI , its money well spent ,and it will give you peace of mind.
Just bought a 9900 mile 2007 C4S, paid for a deep PPI and it came back fantastic, but needed a new battery and the horn fixed. This helped the negotiation.
Inspect what you expect.

Have you searched CPO cars? There are 8 2007 997s under $60k at Porsche dealers across the US with anywhere from 12k to 35k miles. I didn't look at the options, but I would buy a CPO even if I had to ship it across the country vs. one at a non-porsche dealer.
It's worth a look.

Has anybody bought a car without test driving it or is this crazy
I wouldn't say that you were crazy, but I would say that you are a risk taker. Buying any car but especially a sports car is risky without a test drive. Moreover, when I say test drive I mean a serious test drive. One in which you can really stress the car.
You have $60K at risk, so proceed with caution.
