Remember, insurance is for people that can't afford risk. The market prices according to the the average and then the insurer adds profit. If you can afford a hit of $20k (e.g. new engine) and are very meticulous with service (with a good shop), you will win on average by insuring yourself.
Thank. I'm in Florida. The car is a few states over from me. Going Monday. The dealer (non-Porsche) agreed to take it for a Porsche PPI.
