The dealers can, of course, search such all new cars in the US dealers inventory.
I was wondering why they did not open this function up to the public as I spent several hours on-line searching the dozens of California dealers in 2009 looking for a new 911S- I finally found one in Marin with the right options.
I can only guess that the dealers buy into a area and want to middle as many new car deals as possible from that local population. Or, perhaps Porsche dealers want to collect that extra fee for built-to-order cars...

The easiest route for me was to search for dealer by state then click on each within the surrounding states. There are some miserable inventories out there in a lot of places. Also found a lot more GTS in stock than I expected to find.
Since you are next door in AL, the two delaers here in ATL have pretty decent stock, unless you want a 6 speed.
