Looking at a 997S!

What do you guys think.....price? Any other thoughts?
Prices seem to be all over the map on these cars so just get as familiar as you can with several asking prices and of course the big sites.
Assuming you get a clean PPI, I would not worry about the early 997s. 12000 miles in 6 years is not very many per year, so you want to be sure it was well cared for.
Finally, assuming it doesn't just self destruct, there isn't much risk at current prices. If you buy well and don't like it for some reason, you can probably get out of it without much financial damage.

Check out craigslist (from google search "Porsche 997 site:craigslist.org" w/o the quotes to get nationwide results) and of course eBay just for reference. I think KBB and Edmunds would price that car lower than the ask. Classifieds here, Pelican, sixspeed and teamspeed might also be helpful.
A bit higher mileage but asking $10k less. At least print this and use it to negotiate!
That car you are looking at, Joanne, will bring $50k-$52k all day long, assuming
it is in excellent condition and is optioned right.

It's outhere somewhere. Don't know which dealer took it in from Porsche Finance.
It was always garaged and maintained by Danbury Porsche, CT.
Sure would have been one sweet car

Speaking of colors, you're looking for a Riviera Blue car, right? You know you want the Rivi JoAnne! (think I've seen you mention that before?)
I've thought about selling mine, kinda. I love the car, but hardy use it. Never tried to sell it, but had a couple offers to buy since I've owned it. Playing with the idea at this point.
GL in your car hunt. These are great cars, you're going to love it!

The car was in pristine condition and had -- I researched this -- reasonable servicing.
The car came with a 2 year, 100K mile CPO warranty. I was a bit leery of the low miles so the warranty was valuable for peace of mind, though based on my experience with my 02 Boxster (now with 238K miles) I didn't expect any problems from the Turbo.
Well, I was wrong. Briefly, idler roller bearing noisy; radiator fan motor failure which took out a radiator; leaking transmission (6-speed) seal (new transmission); and now a bad clutch accumulator and suspect slave cylinder, that CPO warranty has been a God send.
My point is that with those low miles on that 997 if it doesn't come with a good warranty and if can't put some miles on the car before the warranty expires -- I have put around 44K miles on the Turbo since I bought it and the warranty runs until June of this year or 100K miles... I think the warranty will expire on time though -- you need to be prepared to deal with some possibly expensive issues.
Now I can't give you any odds. My research indicated the Turbo was a pretty good car and I think that is true but even good cars can experience/manifest issues that can be expensive to address. That tranny R&R could have cost my over $10K had I had to pay for it out of pocket.
So, if the car checks out ok but comes sans any warranty you can possibly use this to get the car for a better (lower) price to mitigate the risk the car represents.
Sincerely,
Macster.
my 05 had no problems, but i did find out the previous owner did spend like 3k on repairs before selling it to me.
You guys will love the 997. My 993 is gathering more dust these days since the 997 took up residency.

That doesn't sound too far off IMHO, I would think mid-forties a pretty good number. As a reference point... I bought my `06 C2S in September of `09 for $52k with 19k miles. It seems as thought prices in certain areas have rebounded somewhat over the last year or so.
GL with the hunt
Here's what I ended up with:
CPO'ed 09 997.2 base models are going for low 60's.
The OP's car should be had for around 43-44K...nothing more.
