DETAIL in SF???
ok, so it appears the previous owner left some slight swirls on the hood, so I want to get a good detail job before spring
can anyone advise a good guy in SF?
I've used Calif. Detailing (great job, expensive) but honestly I'm a little afraid of going up that steep ramp and scraping my front end

Auto spa on 525 Harrison is good. I'm gonna try California detailing soon as I want to get that airplane wax!

I know your post asked for detailers in SF, but without a doubt, the best detailer in the Bay Area is Bob Willis. Bob runs his own detail shop in Fremont called Auto Concierge. That being said, Bob tends to focus on full car corrections meaning your paint (and everything else from rubber trim and gaskets to the engine, hinges, door locks and inside every crevice you never knew the car had, will come back better than the day it was born. If you're not looking for a "better than new car correction and detail" then a lot of other good shops should be able to correct a few swirls. Bob typically only deals with exotics...........I know he does a lot of F cars and P cars so if you're serious about getting a makeover, Bob is the guy.

California Detailing is head and shoulders above everyone else.
Absolutely top-notch results and great people too.
My car felt new.
Last time I was there, I shared garage space with a F430 spyder, R8 V10 and a classic BMW in pristine shape.
I get a great hand wash from the place on Hillsdale in San Mateo for $30.

San Mateo Car Wash
221 East Hillsdale Blvd. (between 101 and the ElC)
http://www.yelp.com/biz/san-mateo-car-wash-san-mateo
(1) Pull up and park
(2) Talk to the owner (Taiwanese guy with glasses) and ask for "hand wash for $30"
If you go there often (I go monthly), they are quite nice - they wash the interior of my rims and also give it a complete air dry with pressurized air (not supposed to be part of the $30 wash).
Good guy - just watch out for the staff - they like to crank cars through.
