Default Why no stripe kits?

I just got my 6th new 911 since 1983 and I have never owned one with a stripe kit.
Also I have very seldom seen a 997 with the exception of the GT3 RS with stripes. There is a kit for the S in various colours to accentuate the car and it is around $700.00 as a factory installed option. My question is, why does no one buy this option?

OK, got it. The answer was on my birth certificate. It also explains why I thought the new Shelby Mustang was hot.
Thanks for the quick replies. There will will not be S stripes on my car.

Racing stripes do look good on some cars, though. For example, I think they look fantastic on MINI Cooper S, F360 CS, and F430 Scuderia.

not sure - I've seen black on silver look good (but not meteor gray).

I know all about "driving gray" - but hey, it's hair!!

I'm actually getting ready to put the Cayman Porsche Design matte black stripes on my black 997. I'll be doing the exact design with the exception of the words "design" and "cayman" obviously. Jus tkeeping the stripe configuration, layout, color, and the word and font for Porsche.

Will send in pictures after I do it (and hopefully I will like it)

My cab is meteor gray and I have aluminum look side model designation decals. I guess I'm partial but I think it looks purty nice. (check out my album.)
