My 997 fixed itself...
I returned from being away for Christmas and unhooked the car from the battery tender i allways use, manually unlocked the car and started the engine. I immeditely noticed the one touch windows (smart top installed) wwernt working. In fact the windows would not close at all. I also had a warning stating "systems error" take to dealer. I drove a couple of miles and the warning disapeared and the windows would retract. But, the one touch still does not work. My smart top works with the top as designed, but the windows dont raise when i put the top back up, and the one topuch window down doesnt work.
Anyone have any ideas?
thanks a lot and happy new year

These cars don't really "fix themselves" but if the issue is not longer present, the computer will reassess and clear the warnings. I am told it takes a couple of driving cycles. Why, I don't know, but I have experienced it with two different issues.
As for the particular issue, just try to pin-point what has changed since last time everything worked properly.
Sorry. Good luck!

if you not do that then windows (after you start the engine) will only be going down and will not go up at all. it is kinda odd behavior and puzzled me at first, but then I got used to it, plus no one disconnects battery on a regular basis.

My question above is for the guy who proposed the solution. I ask because I had an odd behavior on my sunroof where it open up fine but to move it back I have to follow a certain sequence (up first, then down, and then back). Otherwise, it doesn't go back...
I did change my battery myself manually as well and am wondering if this, too, is tied to that...
Thanks,
