Default low fuel gauge error

Ive noticed when i get a low fuel light, if i add say 3-5 gallons, the low fuel light still remains on and the fuel gauge does not rise. However if i fill up the tank, teh fuel gauge does go to full and will go down as fuel is burned off... any ideas if this is normal?

Thanks

Normal, significant fill is required to reset the system, noticed in previous 996 also
BTW I have read, for incl other brands, that very low fuel level should be avoided as lean mix can damage cat converters etc Interested in listers opinions
