The console changes should look good. Would love to see pics after the install.

+1 on that.

I hardwired my 9500ix using Coochas' instructions (thanks Dave!) - easy to do and no way I'd pay to have that done. Works like a champ and I don't leave it mounted when I leave the car either.

I did not have to cut any wires in the car or the Escort cable - all done with a fuse tap and connectors from radio shack - snaking the cable down to the fuse panel. So I can take it all out back to stock if I need to and put it in the next car. The advantage with using the Escort remote cable is there is actually a control unit that I placed on the dash at the A-pillar so I can easily reach up and mute it without having to reach up and across for the detector - a very handy setup. I keep mine low right above the chrono and it works really well.
