That's a discount of about 3.7% which is reasonable for a new car that is ordered with your personal specs. Most dealers when asked for a discount may give you 2-3% right from the beginning. You could play hardball and ask for 5% off, but that's only $2000 less on a $150K car. You can talk to other dealers and will definitely find one that will offer you 5% off or even more...but the savings better be worth it. I paid 1% more than my best offer to go with my local dealer because of our relationship and the treatment I get when I go for service. It's all relative. Don't get me wrong, if someone offered me 8-10% off a new order I'd do it. Don't forget about any travel/shipping expenses if you buy non-local.

If you go to edmunds.com you can spec out your car with options and see MSRP and dealer invoice prices. Edmunds doesn't have 2011 pricing on the Turbo yet but I took a quick look at a 2010. The difference between invoice and MSRP on the base car without options was about $13K, On your $150k build it will easily be over $15K. The dealer is offering you $5.5K off which is 3.7%.
On my special order factory delivery '09 C2S the dealer split the difference between invoice and MSRP which worked out to 5.5%; an OK but not great deal. Your's isn't even that good. IMO, you should be able to do better.

That's about right. I ordered my car and did not negotiate on the price until late in the game--and that happened to work to my advantage. There's nothing wrong with ordering but not finalizing a price then if you know what you're up to.

That does not sound to me like a good deal. I suggest you shop some more. I negotiated the price of my car before it was ordered.

The dealer ordered you a custom paint and options up the wazoo without a final deal? How on earth did you manage that?
