DME Help needed
I am evaluating to purchase a 2007 Carrera S Cab w/CPO. I received the DME print out from the dealership today.
I need help reading the numbers. I understand basicly from reading other posts that any number of ignitions over range 4 could be reason for concern.
This report does not show any ignitions at 3 or greater could that be true?
Range # of ignitions hours
1 414 341.2
2 22 341.2
3,4,5,6 no readings Total operating hours 861.60

As a new user you need to become familiar with our search capabilities. The issues of DME translations and evaulations for purchasing a used 997 have been covered countless times. Just plug in "DME" and you will be amazed at how much has been discusse before.

That DME readout is nothing to be concerned with. The last entry into range s 1 & 2 were at operating hour 341.2, which was 520 operating hours ago. I would not hesitate to buy this car based on this DME readout.

That's an excellent DME report.
How many miles on the car? Make sure it correlates to the op. hours. This will also give you insight as to whether the car was in a lot of stop & go traffic (low average MPH), or used more on the highway (higher average MPH).

I agree after returning from the dealership in my excitement and haste to get some confirmation I did not even think of using the search function.
No HTwo O
The car has 37,100 miles on it. I am not sure how to convert hours 861.60 to miles but I will start searching.
Big thanks to all of you for the help.

37,100 miles / 861.60 hours = 43.06 average miles per hour. This is good. I'd say it has seen more highway miles than city & stop and go driving. And it also confirms the reasonable assumption that the odometer is accurate (not tampered, as expected).

I appreciate the formula and what the results are telling me. Looks like every think is checking out.
I will complete the purchase Friday. Needless to say I am super super excited.
This will be my first P car. Let the journey begin.
I will post some pictures when I get a chance.
Thanks again.

I feel very lucky to have found this car.

Thanks for the good words.
I agree with you on the wheels. They really set off the slate grey color.
Now if the high wind and rain would stop I could get it out and drive.
