front tires "jump" a little when backing up and turning

Doing some searches, I think this is just normal for the camber change that occurs during turning. But when I reverse and turn the wheel, the front tires "jump" a little to the side. Almost like the rubber is flexing then giving way as i back up. Like the car drags the front tires a bit in reverse.
My steering is tight and there are no issues when moving forward. I just notice it in reverse. I don't have to be near the steering lock for it to happen.
This is an 02 C2, no 4 wheel drive. Is this fairly normal?

Maybe the conditions haven't been right but I've never noticed this on my Porsche. My S4 Avant will scrub the front tires slightly when the wheel is turned hard over, but then it's awd. Will be interested in others comments.

That's normal for very wide summer tires when they are cold. The tread compounds in summer tires get very stiff when they are cold. My car does that whenever the temp drops below the mid 30's. There have been posts here on this subject before and also on corvetteforum.

Maryland winters are nothing compared to our friends in the great white north! it's been in the 20's F here for a few days and the jumping is more noticeable now on the stock Pirrellis that I have on the car. I never noticed this on my vette, but the turning radius was so huge that I must not have ever tilted the tire over enough to feel it. I'm still learning the P-car quirks! thanks for all the responses.

It's normal. I had the same concern when I was new to the car.
