Is the axle really longer on WB cars? Serious question - not being a wise-guy. I had thought the wheel offsets widened the track, but maybe that's only part of it?

IIRC the rear seat delete is worth about 60lbs.

PET shows all Carerra (2 or 4) Gen 2 (2009-2011) drive shaft as same part number. PDK and 6 speed are different but same number across models. Speedster is only exception. Surprising to me too...must be only in the bodywork and wheel offset.

Another reason why Porsche is so freaking profitable: all the parts are the same!

PS- I know ADias in real life and he is certainly not a know-it-all, and is certainly a very pleasant person to spend time with. Also a very passionate Porsche person. We can all discuss things and no reason we can't have a friendly discussion.

So Porsche was telling the truth about the curb weight. Imagine that.

They weigh a lot less than that. I removed the rear seatbacks and cushions in my 997.2 S to install a harness bar (and lose the weight). All together the rear seats weigh 20lbs. If you remove the seat belts and inertial reels too, which I did on my previous 996, you get another 3 or 4.

Doh! I thought I remembered seeing where someone had posted the weights of their .1 rear seats as being 60lbs.

I do know that the seat bottoms weigh next to nothing.

I may do the rear seat removal since all I ever put back there are a briefcase, golf clubs or some other type of other gear.
