i was wondering" why does the new gt3 hybrid car have yellow lights?" we have all talked about filters reducing light. If that is the case why would porsche put yellow lights on a car that competes in lemans. is it because yellow lights create a better lighting?

I believe to denote the GT class while racing with prototypes.

I second that answer. Helps let the drivers know who is coming up on them at night in order for the slower cars to move out of the way.

I don't race at Le Mans, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night.

I would guess 1) classification and 2) french rules in place. French seem to like yellow lights. FIA is French.
