Default Trailer Ramp Extensions?

I'm looking at a new 17' Featherlight open trailer with 6' drive-up ramps. My 2006 997S won't negotiate the ramp. It's too short. Too steep. I've seen jury-rigged 3' extensions at track days...usually made out of 2x6's or 2x8's.

Doesn't anyone manufacture and sell a 3' extension for the trailer ramps? What do you guys use to get your cars on and off the rigs?

Here's an example of something available from OG Racing:

They have a few other options, and other vendors carry, too.

Not cheap, but will be MUCH lighter that something fabricated from wood. Question of how much you want to lug around and where/how to stow it.

I don't have extension ramps per se but I bought some smaller ramps from Race Ramps that I used on my open trailer to lift the car off the platform when parked so that I could open the driver's door over the trailer tire. Good stuff.

Race Ramps are easy to use and light - but they should not be left in the hot sun as they will be damaged. I've wondered if painting them a more reflective color (white) would help.

Yup race ramps rock. Best part is they are super light, vs wood ramps/boards that are a pain in the butt to lug around.

A piece of 2 x 10 pressure treat wood about 4 ft long does the trick for under $10.00. I also find that if I back my tow vehicle's rear wheels onto camper leveling rams or the above listed race ramps, the trailer's *** end tilts down easing the angle of the ramps.
