Default is there a pictorial brake pad change DIY post?

I have searched and found a few blow by blow written descriptions, but not a sequential picture procedure for brake pad changes. It sounds real easy, but this would by my first time, so I'm a bit gun shy.

There's a video tutorial on the 996 forum which includes changing the rotors too: https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...-tutorial.html

Shouldn't be very different than on a 997.

Where in Florida do you live? I am in the south east Tampa area....if you are near and want to come over I'll show you how to do this.

I swap out my stock pads for race pads every month when I change my wheels for my track events. It is super simple to do.

This is the best I know of:

http://www.bombaydigital.com/boxster/projects/brakes/

It is for a boxster, but it is the same for a 997 (I've owned and done brakes on both).

This boxster post is perfect. it's just like the 997. just go for it. you won't screw up.
the only potentially frustrating part is making sure you push the pistons back in far enough so you can get the anti-squeal dampers out and then the new, fatter pads in. Take the time to get the pistons pushed all the way in and it will be easy. Do it once and you'll be surprised how easy it really is.

I'm right off I-75 just south of I-4. It's really easy though.

Another good site is www.pedrosgarage.com. His DIY posts are for a Boxster but the 997 is basically the same except they're bigga.

Thanks Mike! I'm fairly (although my wife might laugh) mechanically inclined, so I'm willing to give it a go. I used to change the oil/filters on my 993 C4S, and I'm hoping this is easier than that thankless task! Hopefully I don't have to bother you, but I sure appreciate the back up.

It's preetty easy to do if you're mechanically inclined and can improvise whenever you run into issues (like compressing the pistons). The hardest part, I thought, was dealing with the break wear indicators.
