Debating about selling 2006 S, value
Having just gone through this process with my 2006S, I have a couple of general observations.
Your Porsche is worth less than you probably think it is. Do some research comparing prices for similar cars to yours.
Important things to used 997 buyers: color, mileage, condition, and an extended warranty.
Unimportant things: options. I know guys with full leather interiors and aftermarket wheels think those items deserve a premium, but, sadly, they don't...not when there are so many nice used 997s out there.
If you price your car fairly, it'll sell in a reasonable amount of time. If you price it unrealistically high, you'll sit like rbsf123, waiting for the phone to ring.

Of course you can find exceptionally low prices, either from desperate sellers or because the cars have issues. In no way are the prices that you quoted normal, and someone selling their car should not base their price on them.
not a desperate seller...a dealer..an 07. i did not ask the seller to base their price on my findings. i don't want to debate this...you called me out and all i am saying it is a buyers market and a new model is comming.
But they do matter to some buyers. Like I guarantee you that there are buyers who really want "full leather" , and for that buyer it does command a premium, because it's rare enough that they don't have many sellers to choose from. Obviously if they buyer doesn't need the option then it doesn't command a higher price.
If you're trying to sell fast, then options don't really matter, but if you have some time, you can wait for a buyer who really wants your car.
"dont want to burst your bubble but my research shows lots of 07 in mid forties.
some 06 from mid 30's....not saying or comparing condition but they are out there.."
is dead wrong and has nothing to do with the issue. Please show me "LOTS of 07's in the mid forties".
Show me an 06 S in the mid 30's please. In fact, show me several to prove your point.
Also, that one 07 that you linked is in fact a car with "issues" :

it was a corporate lease and then has been passed around in several auctions. It also has 42k miles.

Yeah...real difficult...this took about 1 minute.
There are FOUR 07 997 S the 40-50K range in the whole country. Two listed at 49,999 and the others at 48.5K and 48K.
....most near or over 50K miles....one of the four has been in an accident...two don't have the carfax reports.
Certainly great mid $40K examples...actually...
Mouth watering examples....LOL.

you are way off.
One of my co-workers had a great 997s (Atlas grey?). One day I see a DB9 parked in her spot. Beautiful car. A few months later a new 997 was in it's place. When I asked her, she said she thought she was getting old and a DB9 would be a better car for her, but she missed the 997 so much she sold it and bought another one. Take your time and make sure you really want an AM. You may already be driving the car you always wanted-why else would you have had so many 911s over the years.
I just went through this as well. I had a 2006 C2 cabriolet, black with beige supple leather seats and sport wheels. It had 5084 miles, was in perfect shape. I traded it for a new 997.2 C2S cabriolet, and got $53K for it. Hope that helps.
My first Porsche experience was a red 06 Boxster S. My 2d a gray 06 C2S Cab. I traded the C2S for an 08 AM V8 Vantage Roadster. Within 6 months I was longing for my Porsche. This is about the time the luxury car market tanked, and unloading the AM was no easy task. I did finally sold it and am now back in a Porsche - GT3 to be exact. Could not be happier. In the AM I felt disconnected. In the Porsche I feel like I am a part of the car and the road. If someone had tried to talk me out of getting the AM, I would have probably ignored them. I needed to get it out of my system. So get the AM, but I am willing to bet you will be back in a Porsche soon. Good luck.
