Default time for new brake pads....

does anyone know if i need the "brake repair kit" from pelican parts? it looks like it has the pads springs and the posts that the outer half of the caliper rides on. Is this to be changed everytime the brakes are done?

Thanks

I have been reusing the same spring, caliper bolt and cotter pin on my 986 rotors over 3-4 pad swaps. The 997 is basically the same, just bigger.
If you're ****, you can clean the above mentioned parts with "brake parts cleaner" before reinstalling them.
If I were to change the pads in my 997, I would not bother replacing these parts either.

Ditto. I've been using the same retaining rod / cotter pin for probably 12 pad swaps on my 09, same on my 07. Durable parts.
