Leader, what a beauty thank you for those pics. Mike in CA, I echo your thoughts on tinting but tinting became a necessary evil for my DD that gets exposed to direct sunlight more often than not. Gravedgr, I have been reading your posts with great interest ever since you ordered your baby....Can't wait for it's introduction to this forum.

Awesome to see the cars "rolling" in. Got about 30 days until mine is built then the slow boat from Germany.

Invited my father for a father/son 4 day road trip on the CA coast this Spring when they come out to see the grandkids... then I added in that it will be in the new porsche. =)

He is recovering from cancer treatments now, so it will be a fantastic time to take a few days just touring with the top down. Cannot wait (actually helps to think about the road trip as that is a longer wait than the car).

Hope everyone has a safe and very happy, noisy, twisty, curvy, etc. new year.

Geoff

That's awesome, Geoff. I would live to do something like a road trip with my dad, but I'm not sure how long he would be comfortable in the snug sport seats.

Rain (and snow!) stopped today. A little sun came out, along with the new GTS and the camera. Lovin' the J-Lo butt.

The Porsche drive will be excellent therapy. Well done!

Very nice! Those black rims hide brake dust well.

Just heard that my GTS was completed on the 28th. Woo hoo!

So what information do I need to track it toward to a ship?

Once you find out the name of the ship your car is on, track the ship (by name) via this site:

http://www.marinetraffic.com/ais/

You'll probably find that it only shows the position of the boat when it's within 50 miles of land. When it's on the open sea, it doesn't track. But, you can follow along to the ports-of-call down the East Coast into the Gulf of Mexico, and on through the Panama Canal up to San Diego.

Your dealer will know the name of the ship once your car's status changes to ON VESSEL.

12 GTS Coupes available in Florida as per Porsche USA Dealer locator. Based on serial numbers posted to date there have been 400+ Coupes built. Your guess is as good as mine what the final number will be. The car seems to be very popular and selling better than expected.

Correction/Update, based on serial umbers posted through the Porsche Dealer locator site there have been 520+ coupes built to date. The actual number could be much higher as I make only a limited random sample check of dealers in different parts of the country. I did have one dealer suggest that because the car has been so well received that he believes there will be between 1500-2000 built...
