First GTS off the line?
Ahh. I knew this would get your attention! Anyone know when the first ones will roll of the line?? I think a lot of folks are waiting to see the first road tests of this car. I have always wondered if there is a way to check what cars are in and out of production on the Porsche line at any given time. There always seems a lot of heresay eg ttS still in or done with production. Is this super secret info as the dealers don't seem to know very much either?

I originally had a Nov. 23rd "build date," which became a Nov. 23rd "completion date" according to my dealer.
I'd say delivery sometime in early January would be reasonable, considering I live on the far side of the Panama Canal.
Yeah...who WILL BE the first?

i dont want to come off as a novice and with all due respect - but why is there a need for the GTS in the 911 production line? doesnt the GT3 +, GT2 + cover enough ground?
(i cant go up against the porsche engineers but just curious why there was a niche to build this type of model? and dont answer "cuz they can")

It certainly has caught my attention simply because the parts and features of the car fit with my interests and no need to worry about unwanted attention in daily driving due to the big wings at the back of the car. Best of all, no need to start thinking about modifying the car (will save a fortune). I hope this will be a success so that they will repeat the model in the next generation of the 911 as well.

The "why" has been covered quite a few times already, but the bottom line is that at the end of run of a particular model they produce one or more "special" models, primarily comprised of discounted upgrades and one or two unique features. In my case, I was already ordering a 997S that was only a few thousand off the price of the GTS, so I swapped orders.

Sounds like the ultimate NA 997 to me. I hope for the best for you guys re your delivery dates. When I ordered my 997S , I waited and waited and waited...Finally the dlr called P and said something to the effect "Oh gee. Its sitting on the dock in Germany".

I think the market will provide an answer to this question in due course.

You could not have known. You have a great car and it should bring a smile to your face every time you drive it.
The gts IMO another option. However in the next year or so other options will be available.
You can drive yourself crazy thinking about what's coming next.
Don't. Sit back, drive and enjoy.

Now the 997 has gotten back on track with a limited production, NA, x51 widebody. From what I know, 500 GTS to US.
