997 Carrera S- Chrono? PCCB?

I currently have a 1980 911SC as my daily driver. I am going to keep it forever. I am now looking for a 2005-2006 997 Carrera S.
Please give advice on whether I should find a car with the Chrono Package and/or the PCCBs.
I don't live anywhere close to a track, but I am not opposed to the idea of taking my car to one. I am far more likely to take the car to the Blue Ridge Parkway or Deals Gap.
I absolutely will never have $20k to spend on replacing the brakes, so I am pretty scared of the PCCBs, however, maybe they will suit my purposes better than conventional brakes (as long as they last my entire life...)
How important is the Chrono Package on the Carrera S?
Thanks for your input.

Forget about PCCB then, replacement is COSTLY, Sports Chrono is included in all Carrera S/4S models, skip 05, go for 06/07. Just search Porsche.com pre-owned section to find the car that is to your liking.

Go for the PCCBs. You'll love em due to the fact there is no brake dust. The buy price on pre-owned make them a bargain.
Skip the Sports Chrono. It's best use is for holding my sunglasses in position should I leave them on top of the IP.

Buying used the PCCBs will be a slight increase in cost. However, you will benefit from years of virtually no brake maintenance costs--according to my own experience. In 50,000 miles my brake maintenance costs have been what it took for me to bleed my brakes. No pads needed replacing, and there has been little to no wear of them.
The sports chrono without PSE is probably a waste of time. I would suspect that any PCCB equipped car will have the Sport Chrono anyway.

Love the Sports Chrono.
Buy the car with the PCCB's, take off the rotors and sell them to someone that has cracked or chipped them by not carefully removing/replacing wheels (track guys). Then take the money and upgrade your car by taking the really crappy headers off and buying a real exhaust system that will add +25HP and sound really cool.
Everyone will think you have PCCB's by seeing the yellow calipers (but the reds look soooo much better).

Doesn't Sports Chrono come standard on C2S/C4S? I thought it did, or maybe it's just PASM.

SC is not STD. It is an option and I like it independently of transmission.

For me, I would NOT get the PCCB because of cost, but then again I planned on tracking my car at least 4-8 times a year, so I would go through them. I have already done 6 events this last year alone on new brake pads/rotors and both still look new. I like the sport chrono becuase I can keep track of lap times as well as firming up the suspension/increased throttle input.
