What's the spacer for???
I just put one of these spare kits together using a boxster spare tire but it didn't require a spacer?
Would it bolt up with your standard lug bolts using the spacer? I bought one from L.A. Dismantlers (or something like that) and mounted it on the car with not spacer and it cleared the caliper with no problem...

The spacer is required to clear the front brakes. Standard lugs work fine. Did you check front and rear on yours? The rear wheel calipers do not require a spacer.

Why the emphasis on 997.2?

I presume it would also fit 997.1 S ? (ie.19" wheels?)
