I don't think Porsche will ever beat that engine bay on the beauty scale!
Looks like a clam shell opened up to expose the pearl.
The shrouds are indeed oem.

Not so far at least... total piece of art!
Maybe should take some of the styling from 959 to 991? Maybe the rear spoilder is hidden due to being similar to 959?

Oh wait, maybe the Carrera GT would trump it.
Still, the 959 is a true piece of Rolling Art!

Bent Window was done at Coachcraft in Fillmore. I think it's a 54.

I would take a 959 over a Carrera GT any day!

Eh..., Won't the 959's AWD turn off superfans of C2S handling dynamics? Too much "unnecessary" HP/Tq too - in a non-NA turbo power curve?
(kidding)
Yes, nice car, beautiful car. Historically like a Mozart.

I think intermechanica makes a water cooled version with the vw 1.8/2.0T engines....pretty neat.

The 959 dials in that AWD contribution in a more sophisticated manner. Handling is completely different.

Both 959 and 997TT are the most sophisticated cars Porsche ever built.
Here's MORE what the below reviewer says:
The 959 is "an animal" but not as much fun as the GT3, the GT3 is a better car.
Both 959 and 997TT are insanely fast.
The "rawness and edge" of the 959 makes the 997TT seem sterile. They BOTH "lack soul, character and a sense of fun."
BTW, According to the author all 997s except the GT3 are child's play to drive.
The Author wouldn't want either car. The 959 "lacks charisma and soul." Also because "Grandma could drive the 997TT [and all 997s except GT3]."
Wheeeew. I've made my decision. Though the thought of owning a stunning piece of history is compelling (both perf and aesthetics), I'm cancelling my $500,000 auction bid on the 959 and gonna snap up the next pristine CGT that comes along.

BTW, Just kidding underneath all this - no disrespect to anybody . Just giving us something entertaining to discuss.

Sorry guys, I too would go for an old Fezza GTO instead of a 959. Turbo just doesn't have the noise.
However, that intermeccanica looks AMAAAAZING.
How much do you think something like that would run?

wonderful sight of both beautiful cars and usage.
perfect and unused cars are boring.
well maintained and patina'd cars holds most interest.

Saw these two on PCH near Pacific Palisades a few weeks ago. I think I'd take the one on the left, unless the one on the right was a 4 cam.
