Default Nitto Invo...

While I'm around to posting...anyone mounting up Nitto Invos yet? Mention was made to the Bridgestone RE50A's having a wider footprint than similar sized Michelins etc...is this such a difference to be noticeable?...advantageous? Thanks!

love them.. love love love them.. have my stock michelin's back on now and i really see what i was missing.

the wet traction is superb, the dry traction is phenomenal, handing is superb as well.. and they wear very slowly.

i ran them both in 235/305 sizing as well as 245/325 sizing on the C2 997.. both were very balanced, the 305's would slip on occasion.. the 325's never slipped and the added rubber up front didnt create understeer.

for the first, 70-100 miles... ignore everything you feel.. just drive it and get that period over with (they feel sloppy and wobbly... almost "lofty" at speed... after 70-100 miles all the mold release comes off and they really come to life.

also take note, a 305michelin is WIDER than a 305 Nitto... they run a little different (like shoe brands)... a 295Michelin is equal to a 305 Nitto.. this is also true with the fronts but i felt 235/305 was good bias, and 245/325 as well.

^^^i think depends on the car tested, the tires they used... most dont come in porsche sizing, and others dont have high enough load rating to support a rear engine car like carrera.

out of the tires driven below i have driven on quite a few.. the star specs are good on my lotus, but not so good on heavier cars.. the S-Drive is a good tire but not as much traction as INVO, the michelin's i find very sloppy and must be warmed up to behave properly, the 615's are not for daily driver car... noisy and bad wet traction, khumo's and hankooks.. no thank you.

i've driven tons of tires, and when i slapped the INVO's on after the release agent went away they were superb.... quiet, grippy wet and dry, very good for VERY heavy rain... very smooth tires.

I have them as well and I think they are pretty good (note: they came with the car when I bought it and don't have a basis for comparison). I replaced the rears few hundred miles ago and I 100% agree with what rijowysock is saying. For the first 75-100 miles are so they feel really mushy but then it goes away.

Not sure just how much less the Nittos are in width as apposed to the similsr sized competing brands but just the idea of having a smaller contact patch is bumming me out.

I'm actually running Riley's old Nitto's now. I've had Pilots and Conti's on this car (one setup with 235/295, one with 235/305), and now with the 245/325 Nitto Invo's, I have to agree with Riley 100%. These tires stick to the road so much better than the other two previous tires. I know, a lot could be based on the footprint, but the ride is excellent, and even better, there is no tire noise like I was experiencing from my Pilots.

Does this mean I have to go one size up with Nitto to have the same footprint as the 305 PS2? Are 305 Bridgestones are wider than 305 PS2's ? Bridgestone would be my only other option other than Nitto. I'm running stock 19 in. Turbo wheels. Am all for rubber meeting the road but do not want to change out rims, nor exaggeratetire size. Thanks!

i told you above i thought,

a 295 PS2 is same as 305 Nitto

they run around 10mm smaller on average..

this is 235/35 and 295/30 PS2 on mesh wheels next to INVO 245/305 on 6 spoke wheels.

what widths are your wheels?

i dont think nitto makes a 315/30.. which would be like a 305 PS2..

Looks like Discount Tire in your back yard! Thanks for the great photos. The Nittos sound too good and are priced too good to not give a try. Neat GT3 video on their website. Wheels are 8X19 and 11X19.

yeah, i figured they weren't 12's... go 245 and 305 and you'll be perfect, 235 front would work as well but the 245/305 bias felt great... any wider than 305 on 11 will feel kinda wobbly..

How are these Nitto Invo in low temp (50 degree F) compared to PS2 ? Are they better, worst, same ? Are Invo at the rear lasting longer than the Michelins?
