I do. I'm not sure of the exact name of the product, but it's basically the same stuff as clear bra. New Mexico roads can be pretty tough, and I have no doubt that it's saved my windshield at least a handful of times in a little over a year. The downside is that the clarity is not the same as a perfectly clean windshield, some distortion, and once it gets little scars in it they are there to stay.

The film you have (probably ClearPlex) is more similar to security film that is used on store fronts to prevent break-ins and on homes and businesses in hurricane alley. Essentially it is very thick window tint, just without the tint. 4 mils thick (.004 inches) usually and is as optically clear as glass. You see some extra distortions (there are always some there anyway, just not as noticeable) where the glass curves due to the increased thickness.
