Hi guys,
A mate of mine has an 08 2S, and the front hood won't open.
Is there any secret handle or pull cord somewhere? I did try a search!
As for him reading the book, I don't know. Thought I'd ask here first.

There's a cable accessible behind the front passenger wheel. Do a search and you should find the procedure, if not here at renntech.org. Good luck!

 

Is there any chance someone was dicking around in the frunk and pulled the child escape handle? It happened to me when I got my car. Unfortunately the way I got it to open was by driving 45mph.

If the handle gets pulled I think you have to electronically release the hood before closing it.

There is a hidden cable, as Adias stated earlier. You have to remove the right front wheel and then remove theplastic wheel well liner. You shuold be able to locate the cable to open the hood.

 

is this release cabe on the 08 and newer 977.2 cars or is this on the 977.1 2005-2007 cars? Does it operate when the battery is cooked as wel?

 

I don't believe that back up method has changed between the facelifts. If the battery is cooked (your term) you can still put power to the fuse box and then be able to open the front lid electronically.

 

Actually the pull release is behind the "Driver" front wheel. You have to remove the wheel and the black plastic shroud around the wheel well and located there is a wire pull release that will manually allow you to open the trunk. It takes a bit of force to pull the mechanism open. Ask how I know!. Good Luck
