My therapist suggests, as much as I like.

Funny - I do mine once a year. Need too, or want too. I'm sure it could go 2o,ooo but I like to look at it. No dip stick still freaks me out. I have no other tell tail sign to look at.

$25? I'm in, where do I go about getting the analysis done?

They're really good about helping analyze your oil in english and answering questions you have, too.

+1 to that, when you sample you oil you have empirical evidence regarding your oil changes.

I have just sent my sample to Blackstone Labs after 1 year of use and 5100 miles. Unsurprisingly, the oil was in awesome shape, no water, no gas, no particulates, additive package alive and kicking. Wear is low to normal. I'm going to use the old oil next year for my and my friends' mowers and snowblowers, no need to throw out. Blackstone is suggesting is can put more miles on the oil.

No short drives, car usually gets warmed up. The car stored in the winter for 6 months a year though.

What brand of oil and viscosity are you using?
