Default Real performance numbers ?

•Top Track Speed: 188 mph (manual) / 186 mph (PDK)
•0-60 mph: 4.5 sec (manual) / 4.3 sec (PDK)
•When equipped with both PDK and Sport Chrono Package Plus, 0-60 mph is 4.1 sec

2009 997 S

Porsche is usually conservative in their figures, but this seems quicker than most of the magazines articles I have seen.

Are these true ?

I think that those numbers are pretty close. I would expect the PDK number to 60 mph to be far better than the manual figure.

Actually, given the magazines I've seen, I believe the number are conservative.

Road&Track has clocked the 997.1 C2S with a manual at 3.9 secs 0-60 in their March 2005 issue. In a more recent R&T issue the 997.1 C2S did it in 4.1 secs.

The only 0-60 test I recall of the 997.2 was a Car and Driver feature with a C2 PDK vs. an M3. The C2 PDK (Sport Chrono) did 0-60 in 4.1 secs.

So given the above, I'd expect the 997.2 C2S to at least match Porsche's claimed numbers and probably do better with the right driver and conditions.

The magazine numbers are often roughly a half second faster to 60 since they drop the clutch. Porsche does not abuse the car to measure 0-60 performace. Clutch drops ( an I suspect launch control ) will vastly increase wear. This is not something you do to a car you plan to keep. The magazines don't car about the long term effects of their procedures.

Thanks for this comparo. really need to know what tranny was being used. Idk about the absolute numbers but the comparisons may have some value if the conditions/drivers were held constant. As a benchmark 0-100 makes more sense at this point.
