Sirius Radio Add on
I love the look of the glossy black lobster claw wheels in 19". Wish I had them. HOWEVER, I like good music too.So my money went to the music. After putting up with the lousy, static filled fm reception on my way down to Surf City, NJ, I decided that was enough. Today I got NAV-TV Sirius radio installed in my 07 Carrera 4 Cab. All the stations are clear as a bell. PCM is fine, all 20 presets work. Display shows it all. And do those bose speakers sound good now with the nice clear satellite radio reception. A bit pricey but over the long haul, this was a must add-on.

I made this decision too. Expensive, ~ 1k if I remember, but have never regretted it. The installation was by Sound Wave in Parsippany and is seamless through my 06 C2S PCM. Wonderful on those long trips to Mid-Ohio or VIR.

Euro Car in Shrewsbury, NJ did the installation in less than 2 hrs. Works like it came factory installed. $850 + tax.

I have XM in my 977.2 C2S and 2 of my other cars. I just dont get excited enough about XM as I thought I would. XM/Sirius seems to play the same things you can hear on the regular radio to me. I had always hoped that they would play music that you would NOT be hearing on the regular radio. Such as songs addional songs on an album but maybe didnt get the airplay it deserved. If they had mixed it up a little more then maybe SAT radio wouldn't be so boring.
I utlize my Pandora on my Droid-x with the aux input. I prefer it much more than XM. I am not sure if I will ever subscribe to XM again due to their selections and format style.

It's not just about the music. Sirius and XM offer talk radio, sports and other forms of audio entertainment that you can't get on FM or AM. I enjoy things like the hockey channel, espn, Mad dog radio, Howard Stern, CNN and FOX news. Then there is the music such as E Street - All Bruce Springsteen for us long time fans of the boss, Watercolors a great soft jazz station, the 60s or 70s for us 50+ yr olds that enjoy those eras and Octane for the music you don't hear on FM. I am very glad to have it and will be enjoying it for a long time.

Understood! I really only listen to music in my cars as I dont drive them that much. Occasionally I would tune into news channels on XM but I didnt find it a solution for me.
Enjoy yur NAV-TV!

I have a Sirius tuner on my 955 2006 Tit. S and had it activated for 3 months.
It was real mess, when you drive where there are a lot of trees, (..and by the way, also down town), it makes micro cuts all the time, so, music may be clear, but the "cuts" are worse than anything a bad reception radio can be. In the future, I would avoid this option big time..

I am also a big fan of Sirius radio. Had it installed afew months ago. Works seamlessly with PCM. I had the work done at a radio shop that the dealer recommended.

I have reception issues in my 997, dealer seems to think the radio reception is what it is... I'm contemplating taking it to a local radio shop for a look see.

Update: found the problem to my lousy reception... satellite antenna was located under the hood just to the passenger side of the battery. Moved it to under the plastic covering just under the windshield wipers... now works perfectly

The Targa has it in the middle of its forehead (above the windscreen on the roof), and the cab above the 3rd brake-light on the engine cover, all up high... for a reason. If you hide the antenna under metal and other objects, the signal strength needs to be much better to get a good signal lock. If your in the south, it may not be an issue, but up in the north or in areas of hills and mountains this can be a big challenge.
I don't use my XM much because on my daily drives the signal is constantly getting blocked out by hillsides, so 10-20% of the time I'm hearing static/nothing. For long road trips.. thats where the value comes in for me.

Just installed the OEM SiriusXM kit in my 07S Cab. The signal cuts out a lot more than my GL450 sirius radio but the sound is great.
I installed the satellite antenna in the stock location under the plastic cover between the windshield and hood with double sided automotive trim tape.
Does the rear mounted "wart" antenna work any better than the front location?
