Default My first 911

After months of research there are only few more days left and I will take possession of an out of state preowned 2006 911 C2s, most likely this weekend. I would like to thank Porschedoc and those members that helped me in the process. It is my first purchase of a preowned car and sight unseen on top of that. It turned out to be a smooth process and I had a great experience with the independent dealership in Springfield, MO. According to the DME report the car has been operated only for 311.4 hours and has just under 9800 miles. Ignitions Range 1=105 @274.3 hours and range 2-6=0. I will post some pictures as soon as I get the car. My only concern is that I might need curb ramps for my driveway due to the incline and curb height, but I'll try to approach it a 45 degrees, hopefully without damaging the front spoiler. I'll post pictures soon.

Congrats! Pics are a must, though, if you're going to post a thread announcing your first Porsche!

The truck will arrive tomorrow and I will post the pics as soon as I get the car on my driveway, hopefully without scratching the bumper

Congratulations on your first 911. Enjoy the car and definitely protect that front spoiler.
Your DME report looks very clean but don't be affraid of occasionally taking her up to redline to keep the engine healthy. 911's where made to be driven spiritedly. Keep it that way. Enjoy.

Cangrats! I remember last few days before D-day. Sounds like you got the virgin. I would break her in first. It is possible that it was never done properly. Doesnt mean you dont have a gem, you do. This car likely spent its time in traffic. The motor just needs to be "waken-up", imo. I might be wrong, but maybe you should consider doing it just in case , anyway.

Here is how I do it:
First 1800 km I run it bellow 5000 rpm. Never keeping the motor running at the same rpm for more than a few minutes, shifting up or down on the freeway, changing speed, etc... Change oil and filter.
The next 800 km ocasionally I take it up to redline, through as many gears as legally/safely possible (in a controlled environment, yada, yada...). Change oil and filter.
Then return to my regular defensive driving style.
I also change the oil at 5000km, 8000km, 16000km and every 10000km after.

If the car is tracked, different schedule applies.

I know there is an aftermnarket nose lift system for your car. Google that.

And welcome to this comunity

Stan

Finally the truck delivered my Porsche few hours ago and as promised I wanted to post some pictures, unfortunately apparently I am not authorized by the administrator to do so or my account is pending activation
I tried the link from the right upper corner...
I also managed to drive it up the driveway at an angle and hat enough clearance not to scratch the front bumper

Upload your pictures to flickr, photobucket or any other picture hosting site. Then use the "insert image" button above and paste the url of the actual picture. See how others (like me) have done on other posts. Photobucket makes it easy since it will show you the direct URL with one click. Flickr takes two and a select copy/paste.

Yeah, plus only ignitions in range 1. Zero in ranges 2-6? Seems like grandma was the owner of that car. The poor 911 has never been driven as the P-Gods intended.

Congrats on the car!
