I'd be really ticked if that is indeed the policy. They'll stand behind the part for 2 years if it's out of my pocket, but only for 6 months (in OP's case) if not? It's the same friggin' part, so the company should stand behind it regardless of who pays for it!

I hope I am wrong, but I recall a few discussions on Rennlist about the differing "warranty" periods of replacement parts.

I should not have stated or inferred that the warranty on the replacement item is dependent on who pays for it.
