Default Total/ELF Quarts Racing Oil 10W50

I am thinking about using this oil for my next oil change http://matrixsyntheticoils.com/store/product110.html.
The car has been using ELF 5W40 oil with regularly scheduled changes every 5-7K miles. I am considering using the higher viscocity 10W50 because of my location (south Florida), spirited driving, and precautions to help protect against IMS failure (LN Engineering). What do you guys think? Anyone using this that can provide any real usage feedback? Thanks.

Cool picture!

Elf is a good product, and Porsche approved.

That viscosity may not be good for the VarioCam Plus. Maybe consider the Mobil 1 5W50 (Porsche approved) and the Castrol Syth. 5W50.

Too heavy, stick with the 5w40.

Most important thing is high levels of Zn and Ph.

Most modern oils have much lower levels due to emission requirements and and potential damage to catalytic converters and O2 sensors.

I just switched to RedLine 5w40, very high levels of Zn and Ph.

1% Zn seems to be ideal based on actual testing. Significantly more or less both increase wear on cams.
