Riviera vs. Mexico Blue
#46
Marite is similar to Audi's Nogaro blue, a great color.
Bought a 2005 Audi S4 in silver due to it being on special for $2000 less.
Worst mistake!
If I had bought the blue one, I'd still have it.
Silver one is gone.
Pioneer Centers in San Diego also use to carry exciting colors.
I will get a 997 in 6 months and SY or GR are only standard colors I will consider.
If I can find any of these blues I'm in!
Orange would be great too.
These are unique cars that look better in unique colors.
In Los Angeles black seems to be the only color Porsche sells cars in.
It's so boring!
You can keep the triple black.

Thanks for the kind comments. I really enjoyed the Legends show. Lots of great cars being shown. Just wondering through the parking corral was real treat.
We did pretty good in the concours competition, but due to a judging error we were bumped from third place, to a tie for third place, and then somehow lost the tie-breaker for third.
FYI, that is a 1997 Turquoise Blue 993 C2S parked next to me.

We still need to attempt a gathering of Mexico Blue, Riviera Blue, Maritime Blue, and Blue Turquoise some day with them all in the same shot, both in full sunlight and in shade--just to highlight the differences.
Here's my PTS Blue Turquoise with a 1997 Blue Turquoise 993 Cabriolet. In 1996 and 1997 Blue Turquoise was one of their few solid colors that was standard, with no additional charge. Extremely rare at the time, the color was quickly and quietly dropped from their lineup. It only has gotten appreciated years later (now).
Third image courtesy of Dr. Dias--showing the change in the color with lighting.

I also enjoyed perusing the corral.
I was a little concerned to return to my car in the corral and find people down at my wheels touching and examining the rotors and PCCBs though. I always attend these events with a "don't touch" mantra. Guess not everyone else does!
Bummer about the judging. Your car was impeccable.

That was my Beetle Juice!

I think that all of these colors on an assortment of 911 iterations may be represented in the Bay Area (which would be pretty amazing considering most might be PTS)

I wouldn't swear to it but I think that you parked next to me at Rennsport Reunion back in October (Sunday). I recall a gorgeous blue GT3 w/ black wheels and a big wing as well as side fins. Next to that monster my car was, well, rather pedestrian!
At any rate, Alex is no slouch when it comes to being a fan of the Blues!!!
