Hey guys,
Still SLIGHTLY on the fence about a cab or coupe. At this point, I'm 90% of the way towards getting a coupe. I'm just wondering, is the wind noise bearable to go for a decent cruise in the evening with the windows down and sunroof open? All the cabs I've been in are surprisingly nice even at speeds up to 100 mph.
My truck is pretty noisy with the windows open. I'm good until about 50 mph but after that, I have to roll the windows up. Maybe the shape and design of a Carrera will help with that?
Thanks

I usually have the roof open on back roads and around town. You just need to crack the windows to avoid that buffing sound.

My 06 C2S has a bit of a whistle with the windows down. I think it's present with the sunroof open or shut. It's still new to me, and given the heat in ATL lately, I've been driving mostly with all windows up.

Can't use the sunroof at all even though I want to because of the noise. It's not that it is overly loud but it is a strange frequency and not that pleasant.
For my next 911, I will get a coupe without sunroom. Is that even an option?

Not in the US--Porsche only certified the 997 with sunroof and with that, went the "no cost" option delete of the sunroof. I don't use the sunroof in mine, either. I just don't care for sunroofs--I'm an all or nothing person. Either it's a roadster/convertible with the top down or Coupe with windows up, HVAC on and sunroof closed. And that's not specific to Porsche with me--I never used the sunroofs in 4 other cars that had them. I've never understood who decided sunroofs were such great "luxury" items.

For cruising around town, I love the sunroof open and windows down. For the freeway, I usually close it all up. A car without a sunroof to me now feels claustrophobic, I have had them for so long.

Not having any roof on the cab helps keep the noise down by preventing the swirling wind and vortexes that having some roof elements in the way and a back window in the way, will cause. CAB will likely be quieter with roof back and windows down than coupe with sunroof open and windows down. The question is: what about in the cold/rain with all windows up and closed.. .which do you prefer, and what percent of the time will you be driving with the windows down/sunroof/roof open?
