Default Sonoma Historic Motorsports Festival pics

Lot's of sun, great cars, and racing at Infineon for the Sonoma Historic Motorsports Festival today (June 5). It's probably the biggest turn out of cars I've seen in several years of attending this event. Redwood Region has a Porsche Corral set up near turn 2. More racing tomorrow, so for anyone in the Bay Area this could be a great Sunday excursion. Here's just a small sample.

That's great! Too bad this wasn't 2 weeks ago when I was driving right past Infineon.

Thanks for the pics.

Unfortunately, I have other stuff going on Sunday. (I know, what could be more important than going to the races?!) Anyway, here are a few more pics from Saturday. One of my favorite cars was the 1917 Hall Scott "The Four", with a 9.9 Liter 4 cylinder aircraft engine that developed 110HP and 428 lb/ft of torque with exposed valve springs and rocker arms plus an oil can under the hood for ready lubrication.

When you see things like this you get the feeling that auto sports is still alive in the USA. I always felt that they were much bigger in Europe (Germany, Italy) but am glad to see interest still in the USA. Thanks for the shots. No doubt perfect weather for the event!
