I see all the recommendations in this thread are for 18"s. I tried the 18" Nitto NT01s (225/275) last year and they worked fine. For this season i just ordered the Toyo R888 in 235-19" and 295-19" and am going to get them mounted on a set of Lobster forks. Are you guys seeing better performance with the 18" wheel/tires? The selection is definitely better for 18"s.

I know I've dented two 19" wheels at the track and never dented an 18" wheel. Anecdotal, sure, but I'm running with it. Perfect drivers who never go off may not be as worried about that as I am.

And for now I decided to go with 265 fronts 335 rears shaved kumhos v700 as they were available dirt cheap, just to see how it will go.
mini poll here - I was told 335 is way too much rubber in rear and it will lead to unfixable understeer. Is it a common opinion that even 12" deserves 315 tire at its max? I saw several discussions considering 325 tire for 12" rears with 255/265 in front so presumably 325 is OK 335 should not make much diff but to stretch 315 into 12" rim IMHO is not a very good idea?
what is the consensus about this? 255/315 combo? Or 265/335 with more camber in front plus way stiffer rear swaybar?

I did the 255/315 combo once and did not notice any faster lap times. I felt that maybe due to the overall diameter was smaller than stock I got out of the corner better...not totally sure.
I use 245/305 18" on my 9x18 and 12x18 CCW's. This really seems to be the optimal size for stock PASM or Sport PASM cars.
To really take advantage and get proper tire wear from any R-Comp tires you will need more camber up front that the stock suspension allows. This is why I did the GT3 lower control arm mod.
I am not so sure the 265/335's will fit on a stock Carrera narrow body. You really do not need that wide of a tire. If John at CCW has any Toyo RA1's in 245/305 and can shave them to 5/32nd you will be in love with this combo with something around -2.2 front and -1.9 rear camber....depending on your driving style and track. Start with this , take tire temps at the track and go from there.
