Default Long Starter Cranking

just purchased an 06 S with aero kit...georgeous rig...pix to follow shortly.

anyway, like a rookie, I stalled it at an intersection after the car was at normal temp. However, it took a surpising length of time and number of cranks to get it to refire. Is this normal?

When was the battery replaced last? For an 06, it probably needs to be on battery number two by now.

You'll find that the 997 is an electrical sucker--you need to maintain a first rate battery to crank and maintain all that electrical stuff.

Certainly could mean you need a new battery. My 06 was cranking a bit slow. Turned out voltage was low due to a faulty alternator harness. Dealer replaced under warranty and the crank seems fine.

I also had the alternator harness issue. The clue for me was hard to crank when the car was warm.
Cold star were ok.
