Default New Tire for us maybe?

I have a 2006 X-5 4.8is. This is the one BMW tried to make like a M version of the X5. 315s on the back and 275s on the front. Thats SOME BIG DOUGH for a replacement tire. The Michelin Demaris was $450 EACH for the rears.
I found a new tire the Continental Extreme Contact DWS. They were $1000 for a whole set or a set of 4 tires for the same price of two rears delivered on the car.
On tire rack , the Michelin Pilot Sport 2 is a direct competitor. I wonder if this tire wouldnt be good for street work on any 911, especially ones that run in the snow.
Its ZR rated and half as much as a michelin.
Check it out. I love it on my X5, they are much quieter and a nicer ride.
I DONT KNOW if they would work but its something to look at.

Thanks for the tip. I would definitely look into alternatives when it's time for my tires to be replaced. I've had good luck with Tire Rack assistance in the past on other cars, and found that alternatives worked fine for my typical driving.

Hmm well they don't seem to come in the correct size for the 911....

But I may look at them for the Cayenne when it is time.

JW looks like its sister tire the Continental Extreme Contact DW instead of the
DWS The DWS looks like a Dry+Wet+Snow where the DW is Dry+Wet Summer max tire.
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/TireSe...ting=S&tab=All

The DW is 70 bucks more than the DWS per tire in similar sizes
But youre right the DWS only goes up to 285 in R19s
