A beautiful blue California drove past my office in downtown San Jose this morning. Even from 12 floors up it sounded wonderful.

ROONIETHEC,
1. the 599 is available w/ a stick.
2. I preferred the PDK vs the tranny in the Cali.
3. In full manual mode I liked the f1 in the Scud slightly more vs the PDK. In auto mode, PDK is way superior
4. "lifetime" clutch? my ***.

Absolute crap is obviously too harsh.

Let's put it this way... I didn't like the car at all.

Removing the fact that I can't stand how it looks... it looks to me to a hodge podge of several designs... none of which flow together well, I really didn't warm up to the car after 30 minutes of street driving.

The ride felt soft to me. The steering felt a little sloppy to me. And my example had some chassis quiver over rough spots. Keep in mind S. CA has very smooth roads and most reviews I've read indicate that this particular issue with the car I drove may well have been an odd ball because most reviews indicate a very tight chassis.

The motor was great. It responded beautifully and sounds like a proper Ferrari.

But the car was not my cup of tea. I have nothing against F cars, in fact had I won the $190 million CA Mega Lottery last night I'd probably buy one... but the California is not Ferrari's best work. Again... my opinion.

Ehh..., I like the original more.

It's a lot to like because AFAIK one sold for ten million dollars at auction.

If I ever get a gazillion dollars, the original Ferrari California (short nose) is my car.
I think that's why I am disappointed with the current incarnation - it just set itself up for disappointment because of the expectations.
