DIY Engine Air Filter Change
I have a 2006 Carrera S.
I did a search and didn't find instructions for changing the air filter for my P-Car.
Does anyone have a link?

Follow this link over at Renntech.org (you need to be a member). It is in the 996 section, but it is the same...

Replacing the air filter (engine) is a breeze. It takes two tools.
First, loosen up the three hose clamps that hold that rubber thing that connects the air filter housing to the manifold (intake). Remove the entire rubber boot.
Unsnap the air intake channel on the left side of the engine. (It's secured to a part of the engine on the aft side of the duct).
Lift up the entire air filter assembly and rotate it up and out a little bit to access the bottom of it. (If you do just that you don't need to disconnect any electrical connections (like to the Mass Airflow Sensor).
With a Torx driver, loosen up the 6-8 Torx screws (captive) that secure the top and bottom halves of the airfilter assembly. Separate them, and there is the filter. Clean out the inside of any grit, and put in the new filter. Reverse the procedure.

I forgot to suggest: When everything is apart, clean the throttle body and butterfly valve with a clean lint-free rag- a simple wipe will do the trick. Mine had residue build-up around the butterfly valve.
