93 octane. Usually Shell or BP.

Thanks for the replies.
Ok, point taken.
I will continue to use premium gas.
Is gasoline from Costco inferior to gas from Chevron, Shell, or 76?
What about gas from Arco?
I usually buy from 76, but only because it is convenient.

I have a 76 station nearby (Woodside road) that sells Sunoco 100 octane race gas. Since premium is only 91 here, I put in 4 gallons of the 100 octane and fill up the rest with 91. Same for my 930 and Ford GT. Oh, shaken, not stirred. When traveling or unable to get to this station, I use whatever is the highest octane available. BTW, and it is a bit dated, I've heard that Chevron and 76 sell the best blend. I just know to avoid Arco and privateers whenever I can.
Oh and I agree with Adias. If you don't feel comfortable paying for premium, you may want to reconsider owning the Porsche.

I've never seen 100 octane (but then again I'm not looking for it).
Where can I find 100 octane gas in LA?
Is the difference in performance very noticeable with 100 octane?

Always Chevron with Techron unless 100 octane is available, which it is at the VP station -my favorite
MX racing gas. The 104 for MX is the best smelling fuel.
I still put in a bottle of techron one tank before oil changes.

Always 93 octane without ethanol when buying local, but on the road at least 93 octane from major brand.

Only premium but, contrary to others here, my car definately runs better with BP compared to Shell.

Common wisdom? What is the basis for this? In general all major brands use good detergent packages in their premium fuels. Please elaborate on how Chevron is superior.

This goes back to my 993 days. Techron was great for keeping the secondary Air injectors clean. When those clog up it was big bucks to fix that. Some mechanics noted that Techron would keep the injectors open and save you some BIG bucks. Also running a bottle of Techron through the gas tank before an oil change cleaned it even more, but it gets by the rings and into the oil. So you want to run it through on the last tank of gas before the Oil change.
It may be that other gasolines are just as good there just has been no proof. Techron helped that 993 issue so I just keep using it.

The Union station on Arroyo Parkway in Pasadena (right where the Pasadena freeway north ends) used to have 100 octane, but I haven't been there in a few years.
