Pennzoil Ultra?...
Saw that Ferrari NA is using and recommending Pennzoil Ultra. Any ideas out there of this in place of Mobil 1 ? So far I've been Mobil 1 dedicated. Thanks.

Use any brand as long as it is the correct viscosity and obvisouly a Synthectic oil.

May I kindly suggest? Just go with the Mobil1. Out of necessity I started researching different lubes for my Bimmer. Then I automatically started doing it for my P-car and then realized I should be doing other things especially since "Porsche knows MORE than we do." IOW, There was this "Oil Bible" circulating around the net a while ago. It's amazing how much is involved in the proper oil selection. Assuming Porsche wants us to be happy with engine longevity it's good that Porsche did the work for us.

There is NOTHING wrong with staying with Mobil 1 0w-40 synth.I have tracked my car s for years with this oil...not a single failure.
Porsche uses Mobil 1 because they believe in it and they worked out a business deal with Exxon/Mobil just like BMW has done with Castrol and Ferrari with Shell...that is all. They are all great products.

Now THATS! what I'm talkin bout. I believe Porsche has looked into it to the max and trust them. I was under the impression that Pennzoil Ultra was something new on the block. I'm staying with 5k oil/filter changes. 0-40 is what I use...lots of local driving...my DD...with occasional Rt95 runs. Any benefit to 5-50 in Florida heat and short drives? Thanks!

Regardless Porsche still recognizes many different brands of oils are acceptable for use in Porsches.
In UK IIRC some cars (Fords?) come with a sticker advising owners BP gas as the recommeded "fill".
When you see a sticker for a particular oil or gas applied to a car by an automaker, think money first, peformance second unless that oil or gas is the only brand of oil or gas recognized by the automaker for use in that car.
Sincerely,
Macster.
